This project involved the replacement of an existing 505 metre long viaduct structure over a floodplain located 10km south of Casino.
Features:
- 3500 tonnes of precast concrete, comprising 135 individual spans
- over 1200 precast concrete elements ranging from 0.5-0.9 tonnes, and
- 6 hour windows to complete as many span replacements as possible.
Benefits:
- Existing train service unaffected by construction work
- Design solution that enabled all work to be undertaken during existing windows between trains, and
- Minimal maintenance solution with a 100-year design life.
