Wetalla Water Reclamation Project Alliance, Toowoomba, Queensland
This project provided an integrated multi-disciplined design and construction capability, in order to augment and upgrade the existing Wetalla Sewage Treatment Plant - to accommodate increased capacity, and meet more stringent effluent quality.
FEATURES:
- programming connection of existing plant so effluent quality and quantity met a more stringent discharge licence agreement
- construction of new bypass chamber, bioreactor, clarifiers, pump stations, sludge dry facility, tertiary treatment facility, buildings, roads, services and pipelines
- civil, mechanical, electrical and control modification and construction of existing Stage 4 facility
- supply, installation and commissioning of new mechanical works including pumps, mixers, aeration system, blowers, belt presses, lifting gear, conveyors, valves, penstocks and piping, and
- supply, installation and commissioning of electrical switchgear, PLC control, SCADA system, transformers, instrumentation and electrical reticulation.
BENEFITS:
- incorporated innovation in all design and operation aspects of the plant during the delivery phase
- properly managed increased biological and hydraulic loads to the Wetalla STP
- comply with EPA's effluent impact targets for the receiving waters, and
- provide recycled water to Class 'A' quality for reuse.
