Tarong North Power Station Boiler

This 450MW coal-fired boiler and associated ancillary equipment was erected as part of the expansion of the Tarong North Power Station, 180km north-west of Brisbane.

FEATURES:

  • 14,000t of structural steel, including the installation of two head beams spanning the top of the boiler house structure - each 27m long and with a combined mass of around 130t, stairways, walkways and galleries

  • thermal insulation and refractories
  • mechanical equipment
  • all electrical cabling, equipment and instrumentation, and protective coatings and commissioning.
