As part of a joint venture partnership, Laing was awarded the design, procurement, engineering, construction and comissioning of the Bontang Coal Export Terminal expansion. The works will increase the current capacity from 8.5 mtpa to an ultimate capacity of 18.5 mtpa.
The design incorporates system flexibility features for both inbound and outbound coal.
FEATURES:
The main components of the system upgrade include:
- One additional truck dump station.
- Three new receiving conveyors from the truck dump station including a 500m sky line conveyor tripping coal into a new 300,000 tonne stockpile.
- Two additional reclaim conveyors.
- Six reclaim feeders to supply the reclaim conveyors.
- One new continuous barge unloader, 4000 tph nominal maximum unloading rate.
- Three additional conveyors to deliver coal from the CBU to the stockyard including a 4.3 kilometre overland conveyor rated at 3000 tph.
- The modification of three existing conveyors.
- One new continuous barge unloader, 4000 tph nominal maximum unloading rate.
- Three additional conveyors to deliver coal from the CBU to the stockyard including a 4.3 kilometre overland conveyor rated at 3000 tph.
- The modification of three existing conveyors.
- A new surge barge facility to allow for continuous loading to either export ships or barges.
- Upgrading of the existing ship loader from 2500 tph to 3800 tph.
- Five new belt weighers.
- The provision of two new diverter gates at transfer stations.
- Two new vibrating feeders 250 tph at surge bin.
