Laing O'Rourke constructed a new bus depot and maintenance depot for the Brisbane City Council, the largest bus facility of its kind in Brisbane.
FEATURES:
Spread over a six hectare site, elements of the new facility include:
- Single level administration building;
- Car park for 280 staff members;
- Hardstanding for 204 buses;
- Single level, 3500m² workshop building to service buses;
- Single level, 950m² refuelling facility;
- Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Area, 652m²;
- Single level, 170m² generator building; and
- Hard and soft landscaping.

Laing O'Rourke offered the client the complete range of services and resources required to successfully undertake the timely completion of the facility.
The Willawong Bus Deport is the first of a proposed five new bus maintenance depots to be constructed.
The initiatives and methodologies developed by the Laing O'Rourke team on this project has provided valuable information for the client's future transport roll-out.
