The 15-storey apartment block was specifically designed to meet the serviced apartment market on the Gold Coast.
The accommodation styles ranged from luxury penthouses, individual two-bedroom apartments to dual key hotel rooms. The podium incorporates recreational facilities including swimming pools and spas, and special children's areas.
FEATURES:
The building incorporates the following features:
- northerly views of Broadbeach from apartment balconies
- African savannah décor and furnishings, unique to the Gold Coast, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- rooflines designed to mirror and complement the adjoining Casino
- innovative use of multiple balustrade styles, to break up the mass of the building, and create points of interest in the northern façade
- the use of access balconies to the fire stairs, to eliminate the need for expensive stair pressurisation, and
- innovative adaptation of the standard apartment layout, to provide access and utility for disabled people.
BENEFITS:
The major benefit to the client was the confidence in the project team to change the design and meet objectives without affecting the sales program. Despite a tight construction program the resort was opened ahead of time to meet forward bookings.
