1BASB Transport & Maintenance Facility, Darwin, Northern Territory

This facility was constructed as part of the Army Presence in the North program, which upgrades Australia's Defence capabilities in Northern Australia.

FEATURES:

• working accommodation for the Transport and Maintenance Company
• nine large workshops, two stores buildings, wash down points, fuel storage, and loading and service ramps, and
• administrative facilities including a Head Quarters Building and Regimental 'Q' Store.

BENEFITS:

• extensive civil works successfully completed despite a record wet season, and
• project handed over within original time frame although the HQ Building and the 'Q' Store were added to the contract.
