Woronora River Bridge

Award-winning, innovative design and leading-edge construction methods delivered the four-lane bridge and approaches across the Woronora River, providing significantly improved access between the growth area of Menai and the Sutherland transport hub.

FEATURES:

  • at 522m long and 4 lanes wide, this is the largest incrementally launched bridge in the Southern Hemisphere with horizontal and vertical curves
  • 19-segment concrete ribbed box girder as the superstructure
  • 10 major spans of between 36 and 60m, supported on 9 piers, and eastern and western abutments
  • 34m deck height at the centre of the bridge and 20.8m parapet width
  • underslung walkway for pedestrians and cyclists.
