Saudi Arabia North-South Railway Project

Spanning 818km across the hot remote desert of Saudi Arabia, Laing O’Rourke in joint venture with Mitsui and in consortium with Saudi-based contractor RTCC, undertook the track and civil works for this project - which was won and established by our Australian-based rail teams.

The works provide a railway from the Jordanian border, from new bauxite and phosphate mines, to new lines being constructed to Persian Gulf ports and Riyadh.

Laing O’Rourke won the notable contract through a competitive bid process, outbidding 14 other international companies, joint ventures and consortiums.
