Laing O'Rourke designed and constructed a new 40 bed stand-alone nursing home for the elderly, located on the grounds of Roma Hospital.
FEATURES:
- forty bedrooms in four separate but joined wings
- two bedrooms have their own ensuites, the remaining 38 share two bedrooms per ensuite
- the centrally located administration building houses kitchen, dining areas, lounges, indoor and outdoor verandas, laundry, offices, staff amenities, hair salon, and administration offices - which are all linked via a covered walkway to Roma Hospital
- an extensive nurse call facility is incorporated into the building so help is only a push button away
BENEFITS:
- facility was constructed on concrete bored piers so the natural fall of the land was not disturbed
- extensive landscaping, including substantial lawn areas, was included along with an open type perimeter fence to create a more open feeling.
- a new roadway which included a roundabout for drop off and pickup
- building is fully airconditioned and heated with the associated plant room, so as not to disturb the occupants or adjacent buildings
