Certainly. I enjoy the challenge it gives me, solving the problems and getting on with the job.

Why Laing O’Rourke?

It’s exciting. You build loyalty and in return they’ve offer opportunities as they arise, so you repay that by staying on. I’ve had the opportunity to become a cadet, and to then progress to where I am now looking after projects as a project manager.

Is university study an option?

Yes. You go to work and you go to study. The cadetship we do is based around uni sometimes during the day and sometimes at night. I was based in town so it was good. I worked a lot and then walked up to uni from the project site as required for lectures and tutorials. I found working and studying at the same time to be beneficial.
