Laing O'Rourke to begin work on Brisbane Airport carpark

May 12 2010

Laing O'Rourke has commenced construction of a new nine-level carpark at the Brisbane Airport's Domestic Terminal, providing over 140,000m² of additional car parking space.

The project will provide car parking for more than 5250 cars and also includes a new ground transport operations precinct which will reconfigure and improve traffic flows around the terminal.

The client is Brisbane Airport Corporation and the project is due for completion in October 2011 with an estimated cost of $127 million.

According to SEQ Building Manager Glenn Rashleigh, safety on site is paramount.

"Public safety is a big issue in the operational airport environment and particularly where we have to provide pedestrian access across the construction site in two locations," Glenn said.
