The recently completed Brisbane International Airport carpark has the latest technology, including an electronic carpark availability system to streamline parking.
Laing O'Rourke designed and constructed the $35m carpark in partnership with the Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC).
One of the features of the carpark is a space availability system whereby drivers will be notified, when entering, of the closest available car spot in the 1700-space building.
Every foyer in the five-storey building, which opened in August, has flight arrival and departure screens and there are 100 closed circuit television cameras for visitor security.
Along with the technological initiatives, the carpark design also incorporates environmental features including extensive rainwater storage facilities.
South East Queensland regional manager Glenn Rashleigh said Laing O'Rourke had taken a team-orientated approach with BAC on the project.
"The approach worked well as the risk and costs were shared, the design managed effectively and efficiently, while ensuring a safe and user-friendly facility," he said.
"Laing O'Rourke has delivered this state-of-the-art facility on time and within budget enhancing the operation of the existing terminal."
