North Queensland group wins MBA awards

August 24 2007

Laing O'Rourke's North Queensland building group recently won two Far North Queensland Master Builders Association (MBA) awards for Redlynch Middle School and the Cairns International Airport Central Services Building.

North Queensland area manager Fred Humphreys said it was good to receive industry recognition for the projects and the teams who had worked on them.

"A lot of hard work went into both projects," Fred said. "It is rewarding to deliver a quality project for the client and awards such as these add to the satisfaction of a job well done."

The Cairns International Airport building award was in the category of Industrial Buildings ($2-10 million), while the Redlynch Middle School project won in the Education Facilities (over $10 million) category.

The North Queensland group's awards follow the success of the south-west Queensland group who won seven awards in their region.
