Laing O'Rourke (the new owner of Barclay Mowlem) has completed construction, as scheduled, of Ray Group's second project at Kingscliff on the New South Wales Tweed Coast Peppers Salt Resort and Spa. The resort was opened in time for the Christmas holiday period.
It was back in December 2004, that the company completed construction of Ray Group's first Kingscliff project - the $75 million Outrigger on the Beach @ Salt. The new luxury Peppers Salt Resort and Spa is located 'next door' to the Outrigger, and both have sweeping ocean views.
Construction on the $82 million, Peppers Salt Resort and Spa project, began in June 2004. This resort comprises 164, 5-star 'Beachview' and 'Beachside' rooms, 41 luxury 5-star 'Beach House' one to three bedroom apartments, restaurants, shops, and parking for over 350 cars. The majority of the rooms and suites boast lagoon, pool or ocean views created by the clever incorporation of a network of rock pools, waterways and water features into the resorts landscaped beachside lagoon.
The resort is in keeping with the sub-tropical environment of the area, and is designed to heighten the relationship that they have with the natural coastal environment.
Regardless of the site and environmental challenges, Building North Area Manager SEQ, Mr Glenn Rashleigh, said the development surpasses all expectations.
'Like Outrigger on the Beach @ Salt, Peppers Salt Resort and Spa is an outstanding example of quality and innovation that is sure to become a benchmark resort that the rest of the industry will attempt to emulate', Mr Rashleigh said.
