Cathal was appointed as Laing O’Rourke’s Director Southern Region in February 2011, building on his existing responsibilities as Executive General Manager of Building South. He is also a member of the Australia Hub Executive Board.

He has played a leading role in the delivery of a number of significant projects in Australia and overseas with more than 15 years experience in the industry. Cathal was responsible for the management and delivery for a number of iconic works including the Airfield Project and the Arora Hotel T5, both at London's Heathrow Airport.

Prior to joining the Australian Hub of Laing O’Rourke, Cathal worked as the Director of Crown House Technologies (CHt), one of the UK’s principal building services providers and as Business Unit Leader for CHt Data Solutions, delivering a number of complex data centre projects.

Cathal graduated from the University of Birmingham with an Honours degree in Civil Engineering and is a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
